The Victoria Police Pistol Club Inc. was formed in 1958 when a number of police officers got together to promote target pistol shooting as a sport. In the years since then the club has had a number of home ranges.

Membership of the club is available to serving, superannuated members of the Victoria Police Force and their family members. Associate membership is also open to non police on invitation and recommendation of club members.

The club competes in a number of different styles of competition. The Australian Police & Services Pistol Championship Rules (AP&SPC) being the main competition shot. ICORE and IPSC matches are also shot.

The AP&SPC competition is shot in a different Australian Capital City each year. It is open to members of all state police forces, Federal Police, Customs officers, Army, Navy, Air Force, Prison Officers Australian Protective Services and civilian clubs by invitation. Each agency shoots in it's own Division as do associate members of the various agencies.
